Crocodile scale vase - Laugharne Pottery?
Here is the "crocodile scale" vase you have been waiting for. Clearly marked with a painted signature.
Your ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks Mark

Old enquiry. Could this be by Laugharne Pottery Wales?

Ceramike has something similar, but all the other examples have the pottery's full name written on the base.

Thanks Naomi, I also saw that image on Ceramike which is why I suggested Laugharne Pottery could be the maker of the "Croc vase". Further investigation is needed so back in Attic and the pending file.

Spotted another piece with this mark. Google: unusual studio pottery horse money box-signed "L.P"

I just checked the base of a John Calver pot, it was the same clay ( very light coloured stoneware) and a very similar finish

Bingo! We could be a little closer to the id.
Naomi has found another piece by the same maker, the horse money box, should be easy now!!
Not sure about John Calver, nothing like his current work but it could have been made in the 1970's when he first opened a studio. This is his current mark unless he changed it but that is unlikely.
