Not an expert on Hornsea Pottery but I suspect that it might have had a ceramic dish/stand that would have been marked. Agree with dan..

Can find nothing that matchs this pattern in any literature that I have on Hornsea
You might like to try midwinter or one of the meakins

It's Hornsea by John Clappison.
Here is a variation of the same design, in yellow and black:

Brilliant, I thought we would get there in the end. It just had to be.

I still cant find the s& p set but You are correct the design is called fish eye
The vase shown is from the imprest range 64-66 but this only had vases and plant pots
It would appear they have used this design in other ranges I will have a look further

Re: Eastgate Pottery, Withernsea (E. Yorks).
It often does Dan, they sold them a lot of the moulds, and the fish-eye design
often turns up on eastgate items, but I will confirm at a collectors meeting in Dec.

Re: Eastgate Pottery, Withernsea (E. Yorks).
Asked the cruet expert at the Hornsea collector's meeting today.
This shape is Eastgate, not Hornsea, these cruets are known, with fish-eyes,
but not seen in this colourway.
It could therefore possibly be a Hornsea trial, which never went into production,
and the moulds then sold on to Eastgate.

Salt & pepper, 1960s 1970s? Hornsea? by Eastgate.

I’ve just seen you’ve been through the same thing with cruets in a different colour back in 2013/2014. You were way quicker this time DD. Brilliant.
