Modern Asian Import Empty Modern Asian Import

Form is amorphous and asymetrical. Piece is approximately 6 inches wide by 6 inches high by 3 1/2 inches deep. This is a creamy pale yellowish clay piece. I'm far from an expert but I'm thinking this piece had to have been molded.

The glaze is dipped and layered. The first layer that was applied was probably black matte, then a very dark red matte.

Over that are layers of high gloss glaze with just a bit of each peeking through and in different colors, and with the top layer being a high gloss and what looks to me to be intentionally crazed olive green, since it's so even and only over that part of the glaze, but I'll be the first to admit I'm not an expert.

The bottom has the yellowish clay showing in an oval shaped ring around the outside, with dimples in four places for the little pads that are on it. This is very neatly done. The concave middle has the black/red matte glaze. I can see what looks like it MIGHT be a mark, but my eyes aren't sharp enough to make that out for sure, and if it is and there's a person who knows the mark, they'll pick it out quicker than I will. It's very ambiguous.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

This is the sort of vase we see stocked in department stores. I suspect it's made in Taiwan.
