It's Raku Studio Pottery I would say.

No idea who it's by, it's not like any Raku I've seen before.

Agreed, Raku, not Fat Lava.
Without a mark it's difficult to know who made it, because there's not enough info to run a google search on (everyone seems to be doing raku at the moment, professionals and amateurs).

Naomi is right about many doing Raku currently, aka hard to ID without a mark, but I believe it was more popular in the 80's (could have been 90's I'm thinking though) than it is now.
