Peter Hayes is one of our leading Potters/Ceramicists. His remarkable often Totem like and msyterious ceramic pieces expand pottery in a fascinating direction.
He also has what must be one of the original and beautiful Studios,in the middle of a Bath Bridge!
These photos were taken at Hatfield Art in Clay 2013.

He did use an impressed mark in the past that I don't have a picture of but I bought a piece of his work at Hatfield this year and this was on the bottom.
Makes identification a little easier than most studio ceramic pieces.

Re: Peter Hayes
Looking at a job today, fair sized in Londan. So they wanted shot of their Peter Hayes reception sculptures. It could have been there a long time. It's a dozen or so very tall (six foot) totems as SP posted above, I remember something at the top (round?). Anyway they said no one wanted it so it was now going back to the artist.
I'll snap a photo if I get a chance.

Re: Peter Hayes
That is very interesting. Where is it? If they are by Peter Hayes (and that might well depend on how long they have been there, the really big stuff is mid career onwards) they might well be worth £2000-£3000 each depending upon ifs and buts as to condition, style etc.

Re: Peter Hayes
Sat with the client on Thursday and they said going back to him. Little do they know I'm a pot head and did notice them. Opportunity say "I know some people who may be able to help you out" did not arise.
TBH they are not that nice. Probably x30 years old? Badly displayed against a window so the contrast kills any texture. A bit lifeless? Especially compared to some similar above .
Images won't upload odd

Re: Peter Hayes
I would think that Peter Hayes will think that Xmas has come! From what one can see from the photos you are probably right about the quality. The surface decoration does make a difference. Even so, the size alone would make them of a reasonable value at auction.
