Artesania Rinconada Figurine???

This little ram looks like an Artesania Rinconada figurine but the markings on the base don't seem right. Any ideas?

No, it doesn't look like their ram. Last year I bought a couple of polar bears for a friend, which looked similar to this figure, and were retailed through Pottery Barn, so I suspect this is too.

I thought the marked looked like a PB so I'll search Pottery Barn. That would be kind of disappointing but it's still cute. I knit so I collect sheepy things anyway. Good thing I only paid a couple of dollars for it.

I have a lot of A.R. pieces and although it does look like one, that mark is different from all of my pieces. Of course most of mine are from the late 70's early 80's.

Official response from Artesania Rinconada this morning:

I believe this figurine to be from another factory in Montevideo, Uruguay; or perhaps by an artist doing work on his own. We do not believe this to be an official Rinconada design.

Edited to add that I did see two of their official figurines in the thrift shop yesterday - a bull with a blue flower, and a monkey with a little glass bottle. I decided they weren't worth my $8 as I prefer my little ram :)

I find them every once in a while for $.99
