Haeger seated woman vase
Hello!
First let me say how happy that I am to have found this forum. I've been setting up an Etsy resell shop for the past few months. Although Ebay and a few other sites have been helpful in identifying and pricing stuff, there are a few items I want to list where the information hasn't been so easy to find.
One such item is this white seated woman vase. Thankfully it still has its original Haeger sticker on the underside, but I was wondering if anyone knows when this was made and could supply a ballpark figure on its value. It stands about 9 inches tall and has a milky white glaze. Based on the woman's clothing, I would guess that it's from the 1910s - maybe a condolence gift for women who lost loved ones in World War I?
Any help would be appreciated - thanks!

Re: Haeger seated woman vase
Could we have a photo of the base, please.
It looks 1920s, and the company has been going for almost 150years, but if it has a sticker then it could be later. - I spotted a madona piece that was similar, and dated to the 1940s.
I'm afraid we don't give valuations . It's best to look at similar pieces online and see what they're going for .

Seems these are referred to as planters.

Re: Haeger seated woman vase
After looking up the company it seems their pieces were usually unmarked except for a sticky label. I think it's most likely the item was made in the Art Deco period or a little before - 1910-20s - however I can't find any examples with a green label so as to date it. Maybe others will have better luck.

For what it's worth I agree with what Naomi says but as for valuation it looks to be in good condition, which is a positive. However, I think from a collector's point of view it isn't stylish (i.e. the woman isn't glamorous) and it is in white, which again is a negative to my mind.

Re: Haeger seated woman vase
There are a couple of Haeger collectors groups on Facebook. Perhaps you could get in touch with them. I have a few small Haeger pots that are marked under the glaze, no stickers. But they're just run-of-the-mill plant pots.

I did just what you said - the group leader said that this planter was pictured in a 1930 catalog. Thanks.beedragon wrote:There are a couple of Haeger collectors groups on Facebook.
