Made in Germany? Italy? incised vase
I found this vase today. Unfortunately it has a couple of hairline cracks near the rim and a few other condition issues but I only paid $2. It's "interestingly ugly".
The vase is 7" tall. Ridges inside so it could have been coil made. I'm not a potter though so I don't know if the ridges are from coiling or from wheel-throwing. Deeply incised cuts outside. Stamped mark on the bottom in black which reads "MADE IN" but the rest of the mark is missing.

I thought Italy when I saw it. Unfortunately it would be very difficult to track down the maker if it is Italy.

I found a few Italian pieces on Google that seem fairly similar, so I'm inclined to agree with you Naomi.
