Mike Powers Nottingham
This cheese plate and cover has no makers mark but someone may recognise the style of the painted design. It is similar to some Geoffrey Whiting pieces; but I guess it may have been quite widespread. I will try to post a pic of the base if it will help but sevimg is playing up right now. Thanks for looking.

Re: Mike Powers Nottingham
Looks similar to a bowl I had a while back
It was thrown by Chris Marsden and decorated by Mike Powers at Mike Powers Pottery Ruddington, Nottingham.
Hope this helps

Re: Mike Powers Nottingham
Thanks Davee, very similar. And it looks like the handles have a similar profile also. The underside of my plate is unglazed. Do you still have a photo of the bottom of your bowl?
The pottery has a phone number but no e-mail (as far as I can see). Might try and visit when I'm next down there.

Re: Mike Powers Nottingham
I agree about the handle form, it is similar. No sorry I don't have a picture of the base, as you can see it was marked under the handle so there was no need to take a picture of the base.

Re: Mike Powers Nottingham
Small bowl. I like his red, blue & green glazes. Not so keen on his yellow and browns.

Mike Powers jug
Measuring 15cm tall, 9cm diameter at the widest point.
His mark MP shows clearly at the bottom of the handle. No sticky label on the bottom.

Yes, all well made pots, though the ones I have are rather "samey".
The Selenium red is a striking accent.

A small jug with a different glaze I might have passed on, except
for the remains of the sticker.

This little pot from Mike Powers has a replacement cork I would imagine but what would it be used for? Is there another tiny cork missing from the hole on the side - it as it should be, it isn't a broken off spout
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Mike Powers Nottingham
Just found a similar thing for salt - but surely the hole is rather large. Maybe for people who don't need to worry about high BP !
