Re: large teapot
With the celadon glaze and gourd shape it looks oriental: Chinese or Japanese. The lack of a mark, and with signs of age points to pre-20th Century.

Re: large teapot
But that handle looks rather perfunctory. You'd expect oriental potters to have a bit more finesse.

Re: large teapot
Actually I was wrong about the handle. Seen a couple more - Chinese - with a similar shaped handle. So, I'd still say oriental.

Can't really tell from the photos, but is there frit fused on the footrim? If so, that's another sign it's oriental, as they use frit rather than stilts in the kiln to stop the pots sticking to the bricks.

Re: large teapot
I think the shape is a peach, rather than a gourd.

Re: large teapot
Looks like to me like a British vaguely novelty teapot to me, I've have though stoke on trent from what I can see of the base.

Re: large teapot
Is there a holey ball shaped sieve on the inside of the spout? If so it points to an oriental origin. If not, it points to a European origin.

Re: large teapot
Tbh, even if it doesn't have the holey ball, I still think you should have it checked out by a specialist in Oriental ceramics, just in case.

Re: large teapot
just had a look and the holes are part of the main piece of the pot. you can see them through the spout ( right at the bottom)
