Mark looks like MW (M over W or vice versa) or even two triangles point to point.  Books says bowl could be Mary White or Michael Welsh.  In a nutshell I really haven't got a clue and could easily be something else:mad3:

Not Mary White, wrong clay, and her MW letters are a different shape.
Can't find an example of Michael Welsh's pottery.
We've had several MW marks before; they are difficult to identify.
Tbh, it looks like the work of a hobby potter.
