I have a figure of a bulldog with what looks like Baron scratched onto one foot.

Acquired this lovely piece today on reading the history I assume it can be no later than 1935 which surprised me as the design appears rather modern. Does anyone have any idea on the date of make it has a pattern no 507 and could anyone tell me what the technique is called please. It is unusual in so far as it breaks away from the more grotesque pottery designs. Many thanks.

It's Sgraffito, yes a little different for Baron.

Looks 1930s, after they stopped using lead in their glazes which resulted in more matte glazes rather then the glossy lead glazes. Although the written mark rather than a stamped mark might mean it’s a bit earlier

I picked this vase up at auction recently and it described as Brannam, but have subsequently found it to be Baron. Thought others would be interested in see it.
