Unknown Indoor Figurine Water feature
Not able to find any markings on this sculptured water feature. I do not have a clue what it's made out of. Cast? It's very heavy and because I don't own it............ yet! Had to be extremely careful when handling it. It's rather unfortunate that one of the shades is damaged. Tried googling it over the last few days and not found anything like it yet. Hope someone can enlighten me.

It's a shame you don't have a photo of the base. The arms look too thin for it to be plaster or porcelain. Might be cold painted spelter. Possibly turn of the Century, Art Nouveau.
Not come across anything similar so can't help with an Id, sorry.

Aware of the copyright, thanx for your concern. The owner was reluctant, but persuaded it would help, especially if there are markings to the base. On removal of the black felt, either No. 58 or 8S is marked, in what looks like some sort of green water/oil base paint. Around the number 8 only, which I marked in pencil, is hollow when tapped, compared to the overall area that is solid. I did notice also, what looks like pen/pencil markings around the area of the base. Not sure what these markings are suppose to mean. Nearest the edge of the base, are two indented circular rings, close together.
I'm not too sure also, whether the complete structure is made out of cold painted spelter though. Does not appear to be any metal content, however, I weighed the sculpture and it is 11.5kg. Don't know if this will help in anyway?

Re: Unknown Indoor Figurine Water feature
It looks as though it has a plaster core and maybe a thin spelter outer layer which has been cold painted.
Might be Continental (French, German or Austrian) or American. Sorry I can't narrow it down further.

Hello, NaomiM, I don't know if this is of any help to you. The weight is around 12kg, so I've been told. I've gone over it again whilst visiting, to really see if I had missed anything, like markings within the structual design. It's totally beyond me, that such an item piece like this, does not diplay relevant details, in terms of who actually made it and where.
