Please help ID my (scandinavian?) blue pottery rooster.
Hello! I'm hoping somebody can help me with this rooster that I fell in love with
The rooster is about 14 cm tall and has a lovely glossy finish. I'm guessing it is scandinavian beacause the shop I purchesed it from usually sells items from that region. It seems to be signed on the bottom but I'm not able to make it out because the marking has faded.
Help is much appreciated!

That does look similar Thank you!
So it's certainly not scandinavian then...but I still love it

Yes, very like the pig. Italian. Vintage Bitossi, maybe.

Yes, seems to be Bitossi from the 60's. I did a little googling from what big ed cave me and found an elephant money box that looks the same as my roosterNaomiM wrote:Yes, very like the pig. Italian. Vintage Bitossi, maybe.
I have been wondering about this rooster for months now and it seems to even be worth something

the suggestions are guides for further research but don't exclude other possibilities entirely

Re: Please help ID my (scandinavian?) blue pottery rooster.
Had a close look at the base and the black lettering at the top looks like an upside down ITALY, while the black lettering at the bottom appears to be numbers. This, along with the clay type and blue glaze, is consistent with Bitossi pieces.
Edited to add, seems this Cockerel, and a similar piece in the shape of a horse, are not Bitossi. They might be ARS Italy Pottery
