Penny Simpson Empty Large casserole dish marked PTS

Large lidded casserole dish with sgraffito fish decoration in green glaze and whitish stripes.
Signed PTS 1988, and stamped on foot rim with two flowers.

Does look very like her style of work.

Her bio. says she had an interest in Japanese pottery in the late 70s before training at Dartington pottery, and set up her own pottery at in Moretonhampstead, Devon, in the 90s. Her CPA page has a leaf as her personal mark.

A reference to Cross Tree Pottery, Moretonhampstead, says it "has been the workplace of Japanese-born potter Yasuharu Tajima (known as Taja) since 1983."

Presumably Penny worked at Cross Tree Pottery in the late 80s before setting up her own workshop in the area.

I believe her name when this was produced was Penny Tajima-Simpson.
