Morley Fox & Co. Ltd, Staffordshire
Hello, after searching the internet I've drawn a blank. I have a Morley Fox " Old Eton" dinner service, but I can't find any information about it. Has anyone heard of this set?
They are cream with greek key design, in gold and black around the rims, I've tried to upload pics with no success
Thanks in anticipation Ernie
Sorry for the delay and thanks for the welcome. I hope this works.

Welcome to the Forum Ernie.
Morley Fox & Co. Ltd. was a company that produced pottery at the Salopian Works in Fenton Staffordshire from 1906 until 1944.

Re: Morley Fox & Co. Ltd, Staffordshire
I've never seen it before but "Old Eton" as you probably realise is the decorative pattern name and "Ivory" is I would imagine the earthenware body range. The mark is the earliest one that they used and seems to have been replaced in 1920 so it almost certainly dates from between 1906 and 1920.

Thank you for your speedy reply studio-pots, it's certainly a head scratcher. There is no mention of it on the AtoZ of potteries site and I can only assume they where mass produced. Therefore not worth mentioning on their site

Re: Morley Fox & Co. Ltd, Staffordshire
Not sure which site you are referring to but like virtually all of the Staffordshire Potteries in the "Five Towns" Morley Fox were into mass production and the more mass you produced the more money you made.
After 1944 the factory continued on the same site until 1957 under the new name of William Morley & Co. Ltd.
Certainly they were not one of the leading potteries but they made some decent stuff, although perhaps they were followers rather than leaders in new designs. Certainly, there was far worse wares produced in the Potteries.

Re: Morley Fox & Co. Ltd, Staffordshire
Can anyone help me find a William Morley & Co Crown Manor Ware stamp please?
This ware was made from 1944 - 1957 and I've found the other stamps that they used like the above post, but not the Crown Manor Ware one.

Re: Morley Fox & Co. Ltd, Staffordshire
I usually check on ebay and etsy, on active and completed listings. If there isn't one then best to save the search on ebay and the mark turns up eventually.
