Two years trying to ID the maker of two circular majolica hunting tiles
I have had these tiles for around two years, tried searching back then, came across the tiles again a few days ago and have been searching ebay, google, books and anywhere possible to identify the maker of these Victorian circular majolica tiles, they could be wall plaques instead, but have tried that search also and still come up empty. They have a hunting theme.
They are 8" in diameter. The back of the tiles are plain and have written in pencil JAN or JAM 1886 (presuming 1886 is a date)
If anybody knows anything, or point me in a direction to look / search I would be most grateful and finally end a two year search!

similar in style to Choisy le Roi, but i think the backs of their wares are glazed???? Alternatively, V&B (Villeroy & Boch) perhaps.

One other possible name is boch freres. I feel its continental but can't put a name 100% to it.

The scenes feel very German/Black Forest to me.

Thank you both, a friend of mine agrees with you both, that they are continental. I will do some more digging over the weekend and see if I can find anything similar. Again, thank you bistoboy and NaomiM for your help in pointing me in the right direction.

I have still been unable to find another pair or even one of them yet, but with your help I am a little step closer in knowing they definitely look to be continental probably French or from Belgium, I will keep searching and if I find the answer I will post back the results.

just to throw another suggestion in, Mccoy (USA) did a bowl with hunting dogs on similar to this. Maybe another avenue to explore?
