brown and orange bear - probably Evangeline Canuck, Canada
Any thoughts please on origin of this 10 inch long bear. The orange on his back is a deeper colour than it appears in some photos. Unmarked as far as I can see.
All suggestions much appreciated, John

It is an unusual glaze, normally found in that bluey green glaze (which I find horrible)

Have now found one being sold on eBay by a Canadian seller being sold as Evangeline Canuck. Although glaze is different the stance of the model looks much more like mine tha any Blue Mountain one I can find.

You may be right in thinking its not Blue Mountain, here is the closest I can find, the glaze is called Harvest Gold which isn't as orange as your bear -

There seems to have been a few spin offs and associated potteries to Blue Mountain that all produced a similar style.

I think Evangeline Canuck is morel ikely. I'm not convinced it's Blue Mountain. The BM bears on google images all have one raised paw, which this bear doesn't have.
