I would like to add that I would not describe that style as Brutalist! My previous post does not read so well...

Peill & Putzler (Germany) Empty Heavy glass vase, drips of opaque glass - Peill & Putzler, Germany

Post by dbr December 10th 2020, 7:17 pm

Please help me identify this vase!! It is heavy glass, 8" tall and 4" wide (at the top). It has sort of drips of opaque glass, with small circles of clear glass showing through. You can see this looking closely at the pic. The top edge is smooth and flat.  I've included an image of the bottom. (I can't id the marking at all, hoping you can.)
It is probably vintage - 1940's maybe, but I'm not sure. Looking around online, I'm wondering if this is Czech glass.  And, I'm wondering if this is worth anything - besides being interesting and pretty!

I would have suggested Sklo union also, but the base doesn't look right.

Thank you for identifying the mark! Now that I have Peill & Putzler, I was able to find one other similar thing online (I can't post a link, so next best thing...) on worthpoint.com, a peill-putzler-german-fat-lava vase.   So maybe not so old, and more from the '80's?  How does one evaluate its worth?  Thanks again!

Best to check completed listings on eBay. If an item is unsold it’ll either be because of condition or the seller was asking too high a price.

Unless there's a firm collectors market attached to a maker, the value people put on modern glass is highly subjective.
