Roger Veal, Tolcarne Pottery, Newlyn
Hi all 2nd vase for ID is a slip cast vase which is decorated front and back with what appear to be abstract faces, three on each side. reminds me a bit of Carn on the finish though it blatantly isn't. There is an embossed monogram on the base which appears to read dL but I'm not sure (why would it be lower case then upper case).
Any help in pinning down a maker would be as ever much appreciated

It is the stamp for the studio wares produced at the Tolcarne Pottery in Newlyn (upside down in your image). These were aimed at the tourist trade like Troika was.

I thought that this unmarked vase had a Cornish feel, it seems familiar but I can't place it. All thoughts welcome

A lovely small bud vase - Roger Veal, Tolcarne Pottery
Another of todays finds again with a stamp I can't place. I thought at first that it was a Janet Leach but the stamp doesnt seem right.

Yep, I really like the surface texture on his work. Very tactile stuff. Have a bit of a soft spot for these small vases, though there are hundreds and hundreds out there so have stoped buying them now! 😂

Indeed, the matt surface looks very much like John Beusmans Carn Pottery, and to a lesser extent Troika. But that mark is puzzling...

Hi Philpot
Yes I thought it was a bit Carn in style colour is right, but that's it. I also thought it was a bit Tolcarne. Defo has that Cornish feel though.
