I think in the top photo the pot is upside down. Looks like a pedestal bowl or brasier from somewhere like Africa.

Actually, is it more cup sized, than bowl sized? May well be a candle holder, imported from somewhere like Indonesia or Africa. Might be a Fairtrade item.
