Small jug
Loving the lustre and colours on this piece but no marks giving me absolutely nothing to go on for my search as there are many similar pieces out there. Suppose this is a no-goer on it's ID? BTW what is this type of glaze called? so much to learn and so little time

Re: Small jug
It's not the shape you'd expect from most UK studio potters. Oriental is a possibility.

Re: Small jug
................ if it didn't have a handle.
Traditional Japanese and Chinese pouring vessels don't have handles. Hamada was quite amused when Bernard Leach took him to the Lake's Pottery in Truro to see them "pulling" handles.
Nothing to suggest that it isn't from the UK as far as I can see but unless you can match up the pattern of the decoration, which is unusual, it's going to be difficult to say who made it.

Re: Small jug
It is likely that the large sticky mark on the base is what is left of a paper label with the potter's name, address and telephone number on it.

Re: Small jug
The circles on the base don't look like what you'd get from a wire cut.

Re: Small jug
My first thought was John Jelfs or John Christie or Nic Harrison.
