Here's my final mystery for now.
This pottery bowl is 18cm diameter and has what appears to be the initials 'EB' impressed on the base.

Bowl with EB mark Bowl_w10

Bowl with EB mark Bowl1a

Bowl with EB mark Bowl1b

Thanks for now.

Andy.

There is a potter who works near York called Elisabeth Bailey.

I don't know how she marks her work but the initials are right and your bowl does fit the type of work that she produces or has produced.

No, I have her down as an inscribed EAB mark ( middle name Andrea).

You know far more than I do about obscure potters, Naomi, so I'm sure you're right.

Many thanks to everyone for their suggestions.
I'm still not 100% sure it's 'EB'. Sometimes I think it might be 'Eg'.
There are a few Swedish potters who had the initials 'EB' , however, it doesn't match their marks or styles.
