Today's Trio
I couldn't resist buying this trio today. Unfortunately I can find no makers marks.
They are pretty heavy and of slab construction.
The taller two are 32cm x 9cm and the smaller one is 17cm x 9cm.
They have a lovely part glazed, part matt finish with thick applied decorations both front and back.
I immediately thought of Troika, however I realise they are most likely not !
Any ideas ?
Thanks.
Andy

Re: Today's Trio
I've done a lot of searching, but haven't found anything in this style anywhere.
I'm most surprised there are no potters marks on any of the three.
I did wonder if they might be Japanese, since there are areas of impressed cheesecloth markings. I read that this technique was often used by Japanese contemporary potters, but I guess they could just as well be from a UK potter.
I'm very fond of them though.... the mystery of their origin makes them a bit more interesting I suppose.
