Re: Geoffrey Maund Pottery Ltd.
Maund is/was his surname. He worked in Croydon from 1952 when this mark was used and changed his mark in 1961. I'm not sure how long he continued after that.

Re: Geoffrey Maund Pottery Ltd.
With several things in the British and Studio threads it could be argued that they could/should be in the other thread.
On this occasion I think this is the correct thread as, although on a fairly small scale, the output was not one-off individual pieces but numerous examples of the same shape and pattern. It was also a limited company, which isn't the case with individual studio potters.

Inreply to Geoffrey Maund beaker? Post by vanmann on June 26th 2010
I realise that this post was 5 years ago, however, my father Laurence Rabson was Geoffrey Maund's first glaze artist and worked with him in Purley - which explains the LR signature, this will be an early Maund beaker as he used a stamp on later works.

Geoffrey Maund Pottery
Hi I have a couple of pieces of Geoffrey Maund Pottery & can't find much information on it . I have found some items on eBay but it just seems to be the kitchen type items I can't find any of the vases . I believe the hand signed items are from the 1950s & the stamped items are later from the 1960s . Any info on them would be great

An update on Geoffrey Maund

In the 1990s I came across a lovely couple at a charity fundraiser in Surrey, selling personalised blue and white striped mugs, for immediate purchase or pre-order. They were based in Purley/Coulsdon. Over the years I ordered mugs for my children and grandchildren. I met them at a few more fairs after that. My son broke his mug about four years ago and I rang the Geoffrey Maund number that I had kept. A lady answered and I was passed to her mother, Margaret Maund, who said she had a few with that name on in her garage and she kindly sold me one. From this experience, I have deduced that the pottery hasn't been running for some time but from looking at this site I have discovered so many other beautiful Geoffrey Maund creations. I have told my next generation to put their personalised mugs on a high shelf and not to break them!
The mugs we have are stamped on the bottom with a circular design saying, Geoffrey Maund, England and with 'Hand Made' in the middle.
