Mid century vase. Italian? Anyone got any ideas?

Hi all. I hope everybody's grand.

Found this mid-century vase today. Love the abstract design but I can only guess at it's origins. Looks a bit italian to me but it isn't signed and it isn't a style I recognise. Anybody recognise it?

is it ceramic or glass?

Ceramic. Looks like an earthenware body, hand painted, the yellow is overpainted on the white. The white swirls are scrafitto through the yellow and the black overpainted on both.
