got this rather strange statue baring the name joan heskett i,m not sure if its the name of artist or person posing

Looks like it's slip cast. Also, the glazing quality is not great. The pink colour is where the glaze has pooled thickly. Looks like the kind of pieces and quality people used to produce when I went to pottery classes so I'd guess Jean Heskett was a student.
