ID help please Empty ID help please

Unfortunately I don't have a pic of the item, just the mark as a friend has asked me to look it up for her, but I can't find anything.  Anyone else seen this mark?

The R in a circle means it's a registered mark, so the signature is probably stamped rather than handwritten, and the item is probably mass produced.
I'm afraid without knowing what the item is I wouldn't know where to start looking.
