There was one listed as 'Antique ink bottle N.Antoine & Fils Stoneware'
Description = ENCR JAPONAISE and N. ANTOINE & FILS

We used to buy ink in stoneware bottles in the UK in this way at the end of the 19th century and into the 20th century. They are not uncommon and worth very little.

A French version is certainly not as common here but I imagine in France they are.

It was probably thrown as back then there were many jobbing potters who were paid "piece work rates" to thrown pots travelling from pottery to pottery. By that I mean paid a very small amount of money for each pot thrown. I think that I remember reading that some of them threw 1000 to 1500 pots a day.

Having said that French stoneware ink bottles were not as common in the UK, I have just been down my garden and by the shed I found this: -

That's about it - I was looking for something else which I didn't find.
