Hello,
I am hoping that I was successful in uploading my photographs so please let me know if there are none!
In any event, I recently found this vase and am at a loss as to maker, country of origin etc....Any information would be appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Slipsu

I saw a plate recently with this style of horse and it was made in Wales. However the vase itself looks similar to Carn Pottery, but the shape and design are unusual. Can you post a photo of the base please.

Hello Naomi,
Thank you for your thoughts regarding the vase. I have added two pictures of the bottom of the vase. There appears to be some numbers and perhaps writing but I am unable to decipher.

The Welsh plate was from Llangymidr pottery. They may not have made this vase but the image must have come from somewhere. Maybe it has Viking or Celtic origins, in which case the vase might be Scandinavian.

Great find.

I would take it to one of the larger auction houses or museums and ask them to verify whether or not it's by Aaron Bohrod himself.

There are a number of pots that were made by others, (eg. F. Carlton Ball (1911-1992)), and decorated by Bohrod.

Yes, I have been reading about Bohrod all day!!
Can only find F. Carlton Ball as a collaborator and can not find any company, yet, that bought his designs.
Very exciting and I love the vase as well......

Yes, I have found that link as well and the horses are the same but none of the pottery I have found is of the same construction. Its all sgraffito (sp) in style.
Thank you for your interest and perseverance!
