Twin Handled Tankard
I have a twin handled studio pottery tankard made in red earthenware with an all over brown glaze. Where the two handles join near the base there is a small model of a human head in relief. Is this the potters seal and if so does anyone know who made it? The base has no marks but very distinctive in its form.

Extraordinary. Not seen anything like that before. I guess it's either a new studio potter or Continental, eg, Hungary.

Two handled tygs were made in Britain in the 17/18th century so it could a British studio potter copying those. However, the indents along the bottom are something that I haven't seen before.
