Studio pottery owl, BC mark, and another impressed mark bird on nest? Empty Studio pottery owl, BC mark, and another impressed mark bird on nest?

The BC mark is clear, I have come across BC pottery in St.Ives but cant find any info about it, or is BC someones initials?
The other impressed mark has a 7 to the left and an 8 to the right, does this mean 1978?
It looks like the mark is designed to look like an owl.

It has a nice subtle shiny glaze, could it be temoku glaze? Sorry if I'm way off the mark, I'm a complete beginner and eager to learn.
