Pot Shock. Empty Pot Shock.

Post by Guest July 9th 2014, 7:54 am

Last Sunday a friend took me to a boot sale and I found this poorly treated pot at the foot of a stall, I was shocked that anyone would gloss paint a pot especially in such a ghastly colour.

Pot Shock. 2014-039

A lot of TLC and it now looks like this.

Pot Shock. 2014-040

Pot Shock. 2014-041

Pot Shock. 2014-042

It has 4 finger prints on one side and 5 finger prints on the opposite side (in both the glaze/clay) I'm not sure whether this is an accident or intentional?

Not ID yet as I'm waiting for the pot bible.

I meant to add, I think the pot above has a bit of age as I remember  Embarrassed  that colour of gloss was last popular in the 70s along with avocado bathroom suites.

Approx' 8" high. thanks, H

Reminds me of Abaty Pottery, Wales, but they use an ink stamp.

I see what you mean Naomi, there are some similarities; I'm sure the seal marks will turn up again, sooner or later. Thanks  Happy
