SIGNED CIRCULAR BLUE & YELLOW POTTERY VASE 1988
Hello there,
I have a signed pottery vase looks like signature is Echard Baker 88.
Is this familiar to anyone or is it a one of a kind from unknown maker?
Height is almost 16 cm x 13.5 cm wide at middle.
Thank you
Sandra

Looks like Richard Baker to me. As you're in Australia I expect this is a local piece. The best resource for Australian marks is this one -

There is also the Australian Pottery group on Facebook who may be able to help.

It does look like the work of a hobby potter to me.

It's typical of Australian studio pottery.

That's a bit unfair as there are several half decent Australian studio potters.

Not what I meant. This is typical of how studio pots are marked in Australia and is not necessarily a sign it's a hobby potter. Plus a lot were self taught.

My suggestion that it looked like the work of a hobby potter wasn't based on the signature but on the pot itself.

I agree that it looks home made by a non professional
