Re: Price Bros. (Burslem) Ltd
yes did cross my mind. But it is a nicer finish than their matt glaze, more like stoneware. Did Bourne Denby make elephants?
Re: Price Bros. (Burslem) Ltd
Moulding, glaze, mark, clay and way the eyes are painted look right for Price Bros to me to be honest.
Denby did do elephants, but I've not seen one like this.

There was a black and white picture somewhere online with quite a few of the animal figures they did, not sure if elephant was one of them. Think it was on an American sales website.

Hi,
I bought this small jug because I like the blue glaze on it.
I'm wondering about "Price England". I've seen similar things by Gibsons, but didn't find anything about "Price" yet (hard to search on Google for a word like "price" indeed).
Smallish but pleasant item.
Thanks!

Re: Price Bros. (Burslem) Ltd
Early form of Price Kensington would be my guess.

This mark was used by Price Bros from 1925. So certainly pre-war.
(It becane Price Kensington in 1962)

Price & Son Jug - further info
Along with the other piece just posted (sorry for the multiple messages!) we've also picked up a light blue Price & Son jug, the design is called 'Cecil' - but we haven't been able to find any other similar examples or any more information on age, etc... Has anyone come across something like this, or this design before - we think it's probably 1930's but there seems very little information. We can find a few pieces from Price & Son but from later, and they seem to more novelty pieces. Would love to know any more info if you know anything?!
Many thanks, as always.
Nick
