studio-pots wrote:They are by Don Jones, who worked at the pottery from 1950 until 1971 but potted from 1958 onwards. I suspect they are from the end of his time there, as for much of the Sixties the policy was for pots to be anonymous. He potted at home after leaving Winchcombe.
Here are 2 made after he left Winchcombe:

Small vase, DJ mark - Don Jones
First thank you for creating such a great forum and two for allowing me to join. I've been collecting Studio Pottery for over 20 years, have the identification books but have a few pieces I've never been able to identify. When I started collecting forums like this didnt exist so identification for a lover of pottery and not an expert was very difficult.
Anyway to my first pot. It does have a mark and is beautifully made and about 2 3/4" tall. Apologies if the images arent great been a while since I did this.
Thank you in advance
Adam

Re: Donald (Don) Jones
Nice pot. By Don Jones who worked at Winchcombe for many years before starting his own studio.

Wow, thank you so much for your help Naomi. Very speedy too. I have 5 or 6 pots in my collection that are unknown to me either marked or glaze filled that I've never been able to identify so this is just already such a fabulous place. Thank you again
Adam

Re: Donald (Don) Jones
We dont have a limit on posts, but some can take a while to ID if it's not a mark we've come across before or it's one of our long term mysteries. We just have to wait for one to turn up with a label.

I want to see every pot you own Adam, lot's of members come here for the fun of identifying mystery pots as their houses are so full. they rarely buy pottery
