Did anyone else see this? Do you think there's a chance that it is Cardew? I've got loads of unmarked slipware that will sell much better if I suggest its by Cardew

I don't think it can be proven one way or the other whether it's Cardew. The winner is the seller IMO. There are lots of very competent slipware makers who's this could be.

Re: Ebay Item
In which case my charity shop £1 buy must be worth at least £100. I could live a life of luxury if this goes on.

Re: Ebay Item
THought I could see a faint Winchcombe mark. There may also be a faint Cardew mark - seems the punters thought so too - but I wouldn't pay that much. I'd buy it simply as Winchcombe for a quarter of that price.

There are many people who know far more about Winchcombe Pottery than I do but the thing that really suggests to me that it wasn't made there is the knob on the lid. Too tall and thin.
So it would take a great deal to convince me that it is a Winchcombe pot.

Re: Ebay Item
It wouldn't convince me to part with any cash at all , not even a £1 , the seller won a prize there , I am however convinced that the other piece is a tin of heinz beans , no doubt about it .

Re: Ebay Item
Well spotted, Ed, that explains everything. You might not have noticed but the tin of beans has the rare sought after Heinz label that collectors will pay hundreds of pounds for.
