All I can really tell you that it's a mug and not an amateur. I thought that the mark had been identified in the past but maybe I'm mistaken. I have seen items around with this decoration and mark.

We had slipware marked R for Russell, early Purbeck. This is a different glaze.

Could there be some connection to the Llangollen Pottery? The glazes seem rather similar.

I think the llangollen pots in this style were made later after Rhys , but it is very similar contact Jean Powell at info@cbdpools.co.uk she might help ,
