Hi
I think that this  is really creepy. I wonder if it was a commission - if so someone must love him !!!   Has a very clear mark , does anyone recognise it??

US, maybe? There was a Peter Petrie, who made similar ones in the 70s, but this isn't the mark I've seen of his. But maybe he changed it?

Not too sure about them being by Peter Petrie, Naomi. His mugs appear to have bulbous noses! and as you say the marks he used bear no resemblance to this

The mark looked sort of familiar but investigations has drawn a blank so far.

Any possibility the mug is by Peter Currell Brown???

There are one or two other similar but been unable to find a mark which is sometimes described as a snake ( The Snake Pottery.)

I don't think so and it does suggest that he marks his work with PCB.

Most Currell Browns I've seen are marked with a snake-style monogram or signed.
