Went Yesterday to this excellent and moving exhibition in Chichester...well worth the trip. I have an interest in the Spanish Civil War and it was heartwarming and exciting to see the way artists dealt with it at the time and since

It was a war fought for the right reasons and the artists of the time(mainly left wing) produced some amazing pictures, posters and money raising schemes

Some of the artistsinclude Henry Moore,Graham Sutherland and the amazing Walter Kessler and Ursula McCannell(neither of whom i had heard and was bowled over by)...and many many others. Pallant House has a great changing exhibition of Modern British Artists

Do go !!

will have to go over to Chi' to have a look at this. Thanks for the tip. Did you go to see the Gwen John exhibition there? i found it a real disappointment as they only had a few works by her. But other exhibitions, such as Edward Burra and another of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera were fantastic.

I missed the Gwen John but the Edward Burra was amazing...the Print Room is excellent to...the last one i saw there was Clare Leighton and now its Terry Frosts for Lorca poems. They have also changed the art in the Permanaent Collection Room and in the lovely old house(with the creaky floor)...Hope you enjoy..let us know your thoughts
