Re: Yasuhisa Kohyama
Although he originates from Shigaraki his work looks far more like Bizen.
I am just back from delivering a pot and my customer mentioned that I should go along and now your link......... so I must.
Do I have a few thousand burning a hole in my pocket?

It is unglazed and I haven't looked at all of the pieces in the exhibition but I haven't seen a glazed one.

Bizen is just a clay and method of firing that was developed in the ancient kilns around Bizen City. Pottery was dying out there in the early 20th century and most potters left were making sculpture figures but not abstract like these. Today most of the 600+ potters there make teaware.
These forms are not associated with traditional Japanese ceramics.

I thik the forms are fantastic, theyve given me some ideas, remind me of Valentine Schlegel
Re: Yasuhisa Kohyama
I agree and can see that I might be tempted. It's the PV at the moment so probably all the best bits have already sold.

Re: Yasuhisa Kohyama
Finally got to the exhibition today and they look much better in real life than in the images. So I was really impressed but wasn't tempted due to the price.
Some had sold but the prices started at £1600 and the most expensive was £12000.
My favourite was Danpen No.3 on the website. So if someone wishes to buy me a little present and has £3500 spare then yes please.

That's very kind and if you do find something similar on a beach include it in quiz before posting it on to me.
