Tor Vale / Lemon & Crute / Daison art pottery - Torquay (Devon)
Started as the Tor Vale pottery c1910. It was taken over by 1914 by Tom Lemon and Harry Crute.
Tom Lemon left in 1926 to set up Wesuma Pottery (qv). Harry Crute renamed it Daison art pottery,
and it continued until 1931.
Many wares are unmarked, so dating is difficult, but the style is quite distinctive.
A small motto cream jug with the typical streaky purple background, unmarked.

Thanks for the reply, yes my thoughts too. I'm going for Lemon & Crute, but could be any of the others mentioned.denbydump wrote:Definitely one of these.
