jug with mc mark

can not make head not tail of this one, nice brushwork though   any help gratefully received

why are my pictures sideways? one day will I will get the hang of posting pics, sorry

I have a note for a piece with a similar mark but it's not like her current work.

It would be difficult to imagine that either of the two females above made this because of the difference in styles of their current work and the fact that the brushwork on this jug is so good. It just looks to be an experienced hand.

We have all dismissed Mr. Cardew, which is the correct thing to do and I did look at Michael Cole's work. However, although the form of this is nearer to his work, he only glazed his pots so no brushwork. Mick Casson did use a mark like this early in his career and did decorate with a brush back then but his work was tin glazed earthenware in those days.

So I've not idea.

Thank you all for your help. My inclination is Mr casson, but only because of the quality and the style of the brushwork having similarities with another Mr casson bowl that I have. ( I'll try and post it tommorow! Correctly!) but the shape looks all wrong for him and like studio pots says, the body isn't quite right either.....?

I love his little froggy face though!

I don't know it kind of looks to me like the same hand? but, I have not seen mick cassons stamp from this era so

The last piece looks like Casson (without seeing the mark), but the jug looks little like in my opinion.

I don't know who made it (my best guess would have been Michael Cole), but I do like the frog jug and was tempted to have a bid!

Hehe! Yes potty, was a two pronged bid, 1 it looked quite good and kinda reminded me of casson, 2 I have a relative that uttered the fatefull words 'I love frogs' and has been gifted frog related stuff ever since! Not having this one though cos I like it! X
