Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me any information about this fabric I have. It's the most amazing shimmery metallic effect. I'm not sure if the design is 60's or maybe a little earlier maybe. One thing I do know is that it's fabulous!

Hi Lucy, what actually is it, a curtain? looks like tape strings at the top.
Is it that embroidered satin furnishing fabric from the 50s?
A further-back shot would help.

Hi, it is a pair of curtains yes. Wel. Spotted! I didn't think of satin or silk as the fabric seems quite thick. But furnishing fabric could be closer to the mark. I love that 'elements of nautilus' the stitched pattern is gorgeous! I have a few curtains and someone wanted to buy these from me. I don't think I want to sell them but they don't fit any of the Windows in my house :(

Sorry, I do have some other pics but I am having trouble uploading them today, I shall attempt again later, and if all else fails I might actually have to fire up the laptop!

Unless you're uploading them via a website, Unfortunately photos don't upload from iPhones or iPads.

I have a HTC and did manage to get the original photos from it. The copy/paste function is a little finicky though and I have sausage fingers!

The fabric reminds me of a pair of red curtains I had, inherited from the in-laws. Must get them out of the cupboard and compare them with yours.

It's that satinized cotton furnishing fabric, not that uncommon.
If the selvedge is doubled-over, which it doesn't look like it is,
it might be worth unpicking a length to see if it's labelled, but I
rather doubt that it would be anyway.
