Met her at CAL and love her work. She's developed a very individual style and international reputation in a relatively short period of time. Bought two pieces and more to come. Every piece has a story.

I like the tapirs and the ant-eater and the face masks too. The face masks have something of Graciela Rodo Boulanger style about them ...

I like the three figures next to the birds but prefer them with hair. They are all just a little bit weird with their bulging staring eyes. She's big on souls inhabiting her pieces or guiding her hands as she makes them, so their stories are essential to bring them alive.

Got a little prince by Midori Takaki at CAL 2016 (she calls them angels but it doesn't have wings), and a friend bought one of her bears.

Re: Midori Takaki
I went to see an old school friend's show last week - he is a puppeteer. All I can say is that I don't have word to describe what happen on stage for that hour. It must be good to have things that are new and different, things that make you stop and look and think - I would rather have one of there than another brown slatgalze jug. Those rabbits are cute.
