I think the mark is upside down. Could be NC.

It looks like the work of a hobby potter to me.

I have a pot with the same mark and while trying to ID it have found two pots online 'auction' one said potted by Nigel Graham, the other Nigel Cox???

There's one on eBay with the same mark that's attributed to Nigel Cox

Hi
Definitely Nick Cox, found a piece on an auction site. He no longer produces pottery, but is an artist.
Thanks

Re: Sang de Boeuf glaze bowl with ash glaze exterior
I can't find any reference to a Nick Cox, who paints and/or makes pots.
There is a Nigel Cox, who is Irish and now lives in London, who paints and there is a vague reference to him making pottery but nothing mentioned in the biography on his site. Therefore if he has made pots and sculpture then it seems to have been an aside and maybe just a hobby.
From the paintings there's nothing to convince me that it is this Nigel Cox who made this bowl.
I think we need further references.

Hi, I'm Marilyn's (Doerama) other half, I think she has got a little confused with Nick and Nigel. We found a Nigel Cox on Flickr who says he used to be a succesful potter but now does photography - www.flickr.com/people/nigcoxphotos/ . We also found a piece with similar glaze attributed to Nigel Cox for Ice Pottery by an auction house but have found no info re Ice Pottery as yet.

Your flickr Nigel Cox is a different one to the one I found and, as he mentions that he was a potter for many years, probably the best option is to try and send an image of this bowl to him via email, which is shown on flickr.
Note: I checked out the link to his website but he never even got around to buying the domain name.
