Vintage swirl glass vase/goblet #1

Can anyone decipher the signature on the base of this vintage glass piece , any help would be appreciated .

hand blown .

The signature reads something like '' w thorn?????? 1977 ''

Here's a better pic of the signature on the base.

Could it say George Elliott? His glass could also be marked Bewdley and it looks like you might have his squiggly anchor mark as well.

Suspect your other glass is also the same maker.
