Mystery Stoneware Pot Empty Mystery Stoneware Pot

Hi, can anyone help me to identify this piece of studio pottery. Quite large - measures approximately 7.5" wide by 6" tall. Weighs around 1.4 kilos. Decorated with alternate pink and grey spirals and impressed with a letter 'S'.

I've seen a number of S marks before but not one like this. Tbh, a professional potter is unlikely to make something so heavy; the weight points to a hobby pottery.

Not sure I put this up for ID, but seems too good for hobby.
