Ceramic pot with hole in the middle

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the place to put this but I have a ceramic pot that has a hole in the middle of it in a silver holder. I'm thinking it's a planter of some sort but I thought I'd just put a post here quickly and see if you guys agree. Not very exciting I know but I'd appreciate it if you have any ideas. Thanks in advance.

I suspect that it is some kind of serving dish for the table due to it having the two handles and the hole is there so that excess liquid can run off.
