I worked with a single other person.
I made the sheets of clay with the patterns.
Thierry shaped them in moulds.

did you have a large team of people working under you?
Did you make this bowl yourself?

I made a lot of experiments with squares of a single colour.
My ultimate goal was to use only a white clay for the squares and an otther withe for the lines around squares.
But, as my eyes where so tired that I began to miss some defects, I decided to stop before achieving my goal.
I'm preparing an other set of photos.
This time with pieces of mine then an other one with old pieces again.

Re: GERBINO MOSAIC WORKSHOP - VALLAURIS FRANCE
I have noticed that bigger pieces on sale in Britain tend to be made up of just two colours, one of which tends to be brown, was this the case with your production generally?

It's just a random behaviour.
I made pieces with every colours as my father in law.
And I introduced patterns with "mainly blue, but not only"
with "mainly brown, but not only"
with "mainly green, but not only".
Be patient a set of photos will be available soon.
Did you grabbed those already available on my idisk ?

I have a couple of these pieces used I think for architecture or lamps?

I made these objects for the company which made the lamps which appear from time to time on ebay with a wrong description.
They aren't "GERBINO Lamps".
When a Ford motorcar is dressed with Michelin tyres, nobody name it a Michelin motorcar.
It's the same thing for the lamps. The wall_socket where delivered by Girard-Sudron but nobody named the lamps this way.
Same thing too for the metallic components.
French law forgave me to refuse to sell items to somebody. So, I sold them but I never saw the lamps before connecting to ebay.

I added a new archive on my iDisk.
It's named YK.zip and contain a lot of photos of pieces made when I was ruling the workshop.
To reach my iDisk, enter the URL in your Browser then navigate (for free) in my Public folder.
When an item is selected, a pane display a large icon and a Download button. I guess that it's useless to explain more.

Re: GERBINO MOSAIC WORKSHOP - VALLAURIS FRANCE
Hello,
I've been following this thread for a while, since I'm really fascinated by the Gerbino pottery. Thank you all for the interesting information.
I have a question about some vases that I bought at an auction site here in Sweden. They were sold as Gerbinos, but two of them are signed in a way I don't recognize.
This is the way they look. Starting for the left the signatures are as follows. To me signatures on the last two looks a bit strange. Can they still be Gerbinos, or are they copies of some kind? It actually seems as they are not as well made as the others.
Best regards
Marten
